Couples Counselling in Stirling
In-person Counselling in Stirling, FK8
Service Description
In-person couples counselling provides a neutral, focused, and calm environment away from the distractions and pressures of daily life. Whether you are working through communication breakdowns, rebuilding trust, processing life changes, or navigating intimacy challenges, each session is adapted to support both of you fairly and with compassionate professionalism. As a pluralistic practitioner, I do not use a rigid, one-size-fits-all model. In the consulting room, I collaborate with you to build a personalised toolkit tailored to your relationship, integrating: Relationship and communication frameworks (such as Transactional Analysis to explore repeating behavioural loops and misunderstandings) Cognitive and behavioural strategies to resolve conflicts constructively Mindfulness and emotional regulation techniques to reduce tension and cultivate empathy during difficult conversations The focus is on helping you understand each other’s perspectives, restore emotional safety, and develop lasting practical tools to navigate future challenges together. To ensure your arrival and session run smoothly and comfortably, please keep the following practical guidance in mind: Venue & Setting: Sessions take place in a private, quiet, and fully confidential therapy room at Balallan House, Stirling. The setting provides a peaceful, neutral space where both of you can speak openly without interruption. Session Duration: Couples sessions are 1 hour 20 minutes (80 minutes) in length, providing ample time to explore complex dynamics thoroughly without feeling rushed. Arrival & Punctuality: Please aim to arrive just a few minutes before your scheduled appointment time. Arriving together can help you enter the therapeutic space in a shared mindset. Creating a Focused Space: To make the most of your 1 hour 20 minutes together, I kindly ask that mobile phones be switched to silent or turned off so that you can both remain fully present. Health & Rescheduling: If either partner feels unwell before a scheduled appointment, please let me know with as much notice as possible. I can easily switch the session to an online meeting or reschedule under my standard 48-hour cancellation policy. Confidentiality & Privacy: In alignment with BACP and COSCA ethical frameworks, your privacy is strictly protected, and sessions must not be recorded by any party under any circumstances.
